Approaching the annual holidays this year has all of us wondering how our tradition of a family getting together for Thanksgiving will actually happen.
With limits on indoor gatherings and the recommended guidelines around traveling – our usual expectations for day-tripping and couch-surfing to various homes of our relatives is pretty much – ‘off the table’ – there may even be stricter guidelines on staying indoors later in the fall.
What will we do about our feasting and tradition of being thankful for what we have?
One cool idea is a Traveling PotLuck! If there’s an unbreakable rule that you must see family this season – grab some seasonal selections from the TPG menu and deliver it your loved one’s home – in exchange for meals they prepare for you. You Amy not get to spend time to-gether – but at least everyone gets to feast!
It’s also very likely that we won’t get to see family at all – which is sometimes a reason to give thanks – and instead, the newer tradition of Friendsgiving will be how we celebrate. Getting to-gether with the chosen family who are close by and quite often way more fun! If you opt for this – we suggest brunch and make a whole day of it. Mimosas and turkey bacon on French toast sounds like a great way to start!
Perhaps it’ll be more realistic to have it all delivered and stay in the comfort of your own home with nearest and dearest. This works out great if you’re worried about going shopping and preparing Thanksgiving Dinner full stop! Plus, this can be a great way to offer support to your community and take away the stress and anxiousness that cooking may give you.
It could also be a comedy of errors and disaster if your holiday is ala: NEW GIRL
